Funerals, Memorials and Ash Scattering Ceremonies

“When I am gone, don’t miss me more than once or twice a day, there’s so much life to live my love, I’m with you all the way”

- Donna Ashworth

Supporting You During Difficult Times

I understand how important it is to mark the passing of your loved one with respect, dignity, and in a way that reflects their life equitably. I’ve experienced loss too, and I’m here to support you.

When you have so much to think about, my role as a professionally trained celebrant is to partner with you in planning a personalised funeral service that celebrates the life of your loved one.

I can lead the service, respectfully managing the structure and timings, capturing the meanings behind the music, poems, or readings you choose, whether scriptural or otherwise.

Capturing Their Story

Using my storytelling skills, I will capture the essence of your loved one and craft a beautifully personalised and unique service that enshrines their life and your collective memories of them. This can include a eulogy you may have written, which either you or I can deliver, or I can write and deliver it for you, if you prefer.

Flexible Service Locations

I can officiate funeral, memorial, and living funeral services at a hotel, crematorium, outdoors, or any location of your choosing to best suit your budget and wishes.

Bespoke &Personalised Ceremonies

Every ceremony is unique and personalised to your loved one. I will be by your side to deliver thoughtful and meaningful services for:

Cremations

Natural burials

Burials

Internments

Ash scattering ceremonies

Living funerals

Living Funeral &Pre-Planned Funeral Services

A pre-planned or living funeral is a service organised in advance of a person’s passing, often by the person themselves. This may be done either years ahead as part of logistical planning or in response to more immediate timing.

If this is something you are considering, this process can be a cathartic experience, allowing you to reflect on your life and passions. It provides the opportunity to ensure your wishes are clearly expressed, including choices for music, verses, and reflections.

Why Plan Ahead?

Just like writing a will, many find comfort in working with a celebrant to create their service. It offers peace of mind, knowing that your wishes are laid out and relieving your loved ones of this responsibility during an emotionally challenging time.

My Role as a Celebrant

My role is to explain the process and support you in achieving the outcome you desire, whether the service is held after your passing or one you’d like to attend under certain circumstances. Many clients feel a sense of relief after completing this kind of forward planning.

I can visit your home or arrange a video call to discuss your needs face-to-face. Once we’ve talked through your preferences, I will produce a full service for your approval.

Fees are available upon request.

Please note that prices are subject to any specific ceremony or travel requirements outside a 40-mile radius.

To enquire about booking a ceremony or coaching session, please get in touch. I am available across Oxfordshire, Warwickshire, and the Cotswolds. I also offer online/international coaching for clients who prefer remote sessions.

Data protection and security: Please note that your information is retained only for the purpose of supporting your request and will not be shared with any third party organisation without your permission. It will be held securely, for a period no longer than 24 months after we finish working together and will then be deleted.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between a celebrant and a registrar?

In the UK, to be legally married, this has to be registered either via a registrar in your local registry office, or via a church representative aligned to your chosen faith. The legal certificate should be signed either the day before or after the wedding service.

A celebrant-led service provides the freedom to have a fully personalised and bespoke service, tailored to you, your and your partner before or after the wedding service with the flexibility of being held at any location of your choosing.

In the case of a funeral related service, a celebrant-led service offers the same level of personalisation and meaning to celebrate the life of your loved one.

How far do you travel?

Travel costs within a 40 mile radius are included in the service fee costs.

Are you a humanist celebrant?

I am an independent civil celebrant which means that I am not a representative of the church though nor am I an atheist and am entirely happy to include readings, poetry or spiritual content as required and related to your faith. A humanist celebrant-led service does not include any spiritual content.

How confidential is the content?

For all ceremonies or services, then you and your partner if applicable (or me) will see the final content and running order without your permission. For a wedding, in the case of you each wanting to write your vows privately to be revealed to each other for the first time on the day, I am happy to liaise with you both separately.

How far in advance do I need to book you?

As much notice as you can is always welcome though I know circumstances can mean that it may not always be possible to do that, so please simply get in touch and I’m happy to work out a workable solution where feasible.

Which qualifications do you hold?

I have been trained by and am a member of, the International College of Professional Celebrants.

Which types of funeral related services do you support?

Wherever you would like the service to take place, I will be happy to support you through this emotional time. It may be that you would like a memorial service before or after a short committal service at the crematorium, indoors, or outdoors, at home or at a location of your choosing.

I can lead a personalised graveside service at a burial site or natural burial ground too.

Should you wish to plan your own funeral to give you the peace of mind of knowing that your affairs and requests are documented and in order, I would be honoured to walk beside you as you step through this cathartic process. And, should circumstances lead you to wanting to hold your own living funeral and pre-planned funeral services, or that of a loved one, I would consider it a privilege to be at your side to create and deliver this to your requirements.

Any other questions?

If anything else springs to mind, please complete the contact form and I will respond with the appropriate answer. I very much look forward to hearing from you.
